This course is determined by Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

After successfully passing the final assessment, the student is a qualified First Aider. Certificates are valid for 3 years.

Under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, First Aid Certificates are only valid for 3 years. To comply with these Regulations, a Re-Qualifying Course is necessary within these 3 years. If a certificate is more than 3 years, 28 days old, the holder is required to attend a FULL course in order to gain a further certificate. All students must produce a valid First Aid Certificate to Frinton First Aid before the start of the course.

Guidelines from HSE state that certificates may be renewed 3 months before expiry date, a new certificate will be dated from the old expiry date. If your First Aiders have had little practice since qualifying, you should consider them attending a complete 4-day course again.

The aim of this course is to teach the life saving procedures in First Aid, including how to handle emergencies.

This course is suitable for low risk small firms and offices who have no requirement for a qualified First Aider but to take responsibility for first aid arrangements to comply with the needs of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

There is no examination, but students will be assessed during the course. An attendance certificate will be issued to those who prove satisfactory in this subject.

As from August 2008 all environments where children are being supervised must have a 12 hour Pediatrician First Aider.

This course is designed to teach those working in a childcare environment the correct first aid procedures when treating babies & children with various injuries/conditions. It will also cover record keeping and appropriate contents for a first aid kit.

In 2007, Frinton School of First Aid was approved by the Pre-school Learning Alliance and the National Childminding Association to run this course, which follows the syllabus required by Ofsted.

Upon reaching a competent standard in all units each student will receive a certificate of attainment. The certificate is valid for 3 years from the date of completion of the course. In-house bookings will also receive a group certificate for display purposes.

Course Duration

12 hours training time which can be split over 2, 3, 4 or 6 sessions to suit requirements.

This course is designed to update a qualified first aider to a Paediatric First Aider.

All attendees must have an in date Frinton First Aid FAW Certificate.

The Paediatric Certificate will be in date to run parallel.

Teaches participants how to preserve life in an emergency situation. Includes placing a person in the recovery position. Candidates will be shown the correct procedure for resuscitation and will be given the opportunity to practice their skills on resuscitation manikins.

A certificate of attendance will be issued to all candidates proving to be competent in the subject.

In-house bookings will also receive a group certificate for display purposes along with a copy of our comprehensive first aid manual to be kept in the workplace for reference purposes.

Playground / Minor Injuries First Aid are specifically aimed at treating the more common types of injuries / conditions that do not require hospital treatment.

The session can be tailored to your needs and can be incorporated into the end of an Emergency First Aid Appointed Person course. click here

The additional session is available on most 1 day courses and is offered to those who wish to stay on at no extra charge.

These courses can be added to any course we offer or specially designed to meet your needs eg. Water born, Remote areas, Twilight training over many sessions, Early or late starts (night shifts). Training on the roll where staff pop in and nip out. If it suits you we can probably make it happen.

In addition to our regular courses, which follow a particular syllabus, we are also able to offer a bespoke service for in-house training.

This can be done either by relating the syllabus of a regular course to suit your business environment or by putting together a package specifically to meet your requests.

Costs for these courses vary dependant upon the length of course and the number of candidates, but no job is too large or too small!
